MMR Vaccine Rash

Emmett had his 15 month MMRV vaccine December 16th. January 2nd he cried all night which is so unlike him! In fact, he had been rather cranky for the past few weeks. Of course, "he must be cutting molars" explanation ran through my mind.Jan 3rd, he woke up with a pretty nasty rash starting at his hairline and extending down his neck. It worried me. I am a rash expert! Trey was one big eczema rash from birth until age 2 and I suffered with severe eczema as a child... This was different. After a 20$ copay and it's probably a change in weather I was back home with a cranky toddler. The next morning it had spread down his belly and back. I called the Dr and was told since no fever/ diarrhea was not present and he was E and D well to forget about it. Jan 5th it had worsened and traveled down his legs so another 20$ and a different Dr diagnosed it as a measles rash from a side effect of the vaccine. 1 in 20 kids get it(of those who actually report it) you know I did. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Many of you know my feelings on vaccines. I have links to add to this post but they will have to wait until I have a little more time... Stay tuned

  1. I was very thankful when I found your post as I am going through the exact same situation. I was wondering how long the rash lasted???
